ACS Publications is sponsoring a unique opportunity to attend the 2013 SLA Annual Conference, June 9-11, in San Diego, CA
ACS Publications is working with the SLA Chemistry Division to sponsor a travel award of $1,000 to defray the costs of attending the 2013 SLA Annual Conference June 9-11 in San Diego, CA. The scholarship is open to all SLA Chemistry Division members. The winner will be invited to work with ACS Publications in an advisory capacity as they expand their outreach efforts in 2013.
TRAVEL AWARD:
$1,000 stipend to attend the 2013 SLA Annual Conference. The winner also receives an award certificate at the Annual Conference during the Chemistry Division Business Meeting & Breakfast.
ELIGIBILITY:
All members of the Chemistry Division are eligible. All applicants must have joined the Chemistry Division by March 1, 2013. See below for information on joining SLA and the Chemistry Division. Travel funds provided by your employer do not affect your eligibility.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Please submit the following:
· A brief essay (two-page double spaced) on how your library is managing change. For example, describe how you introduce MOOCs into your curriculum, eliminate print subscriptions, integrate new technologies, or close a branch library. What procedures, analysis, and steps does your library follow to implement change?
· Resume or CV
DEADLINE:
All applications must be received by March 15, 2013. The winner will be notified by March 31, 2013. Essays will be judged by a panel of ACS Publication staff and SLA Chemistry Division members.
